Job Description:
As a Nursery Manager/Director at CanDo Nursery, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the nursery, ensuring the provision of high-quality care, and creating a positive and enriching environment for young children. Your role will involve managing staff, implementing policies and procedures, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering strong relationships with parents and the wider community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to the nursery staff, promoting a positive work culture and fostering professional growth and development.
- Develop and implement the nursery’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives, ensuring alignment with best practices in early childhood education.
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for children, adhering to health and safety regulations and safeguarding procedures.
- Oversee the recruitment, selection, and training of nursery staff, conducting performance evaluations, and providing ongoing support and guidance.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and curriculum frameworks to support the educational and holistic development of children.
- Collaborate with nursery teachers and other staff members to plan and deliver a well-rounded and developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care and educational programs, conducting regular assessments and implementing improvements as needed.
- Maintain effective communication with parents or guardians, providing updates on their child’s progress, addressing concerns, and fostering a partnership in their child’s education.
- Manage the nursery’s budget, resources, and finances, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources and cost control.
- Foster positive relationships with external stakeholders, such as local authorities, regulatory bodies, and community organizations, to enhance the nursery’s reputation and collaboration opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role within a nursery, preschool, or early years setting.
- In-depth knowledge of early childhood education principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage staff, resources, and operations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to analyze data, assess quality, and make data-driven decisions to improve the nursery’s performance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address challenges effectively.
- Familiarity with financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- A passion for providing high-quality care and education to young children.
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications and software.
